PennDOT announced Monday that it plans to repair and resurface two Newtown-area roads.

The planned repair and resurfacing project includes Swamp Road between Second Street Pike and the Newtown Bypass in Wrightstown and Newtown townships, and Pineville Road/Ridge Road/Street Road/Lurgan Road between Durham Road and Van Sant Road in Buckingham, Solebury and Upper Makefield townships.

The work is part of a $12,610,492 project that will see 44 miles of state roadways across Bucks County repaired and resurfaced.

The dates when the work will take place have not yet been announced, but PennDOT noted the work is weather dependent.

The contract for the project has been awarded to Blooming Glen Contractors Inc. of Hilltown.

The 44 miles of state roads is expected to be resurfaced by December.
