Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate was down in August.
Data from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry said the unemployment rate declined one-tenth of a percentage point from July to 4.1 percent. The rate is an 18-year low.
The national unemployment rate for August was 3.9 percent.
Over the past year, the civilian labor force in the state grew by 9,000 jobs.
The education and health services sectors showed the largest gains.
