Two drivers were critically injured in a crash on the Newtown Bypass Monday morning.
The head-on wreck happened on the eastbound lanes of the Newtown Bypass near the intersection with Summit Trace Road in Newtown Township around 10:30 a.m.
Township police Chief John Hearn said there was preliminary information that one of the two vehicles involved may have been traveling on the wrong side of the Bypass.
Firefighters helped medics remove the drivers from their vehicles.
The eastbound lanes of the road were blocked between Summit Trace Road and Newtown-Langhorne Road as of 11:45 a.m. while detectives continued to investigate the cause of the crash.
