The COVID-19 death toll of Bucks Countians rose to 11 Friday.

The three latest deaths were residents in ages ranging from the mid-70s to mid-90s, according to county officials.

All of the COVID-19 deaths in the county were older residents and many had underlying health conditions.

As of Friday night, 43 residents were hospitalized and 15 were in critical condition on ventilators, county officials said.

The county added 68 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total to 517. A total of 73 Bucks Countians have recovered from the disease.

In an afternoon media briefing, state Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine said 10 percent of the 8,420 COVID-19 patients have needed hospitalization. In addition, about 12 percent of Pennsylvania’s licensed nursing facilities have at least one case.

Gov. Tom Wolf urged residents to wear nose and mouth coverings when they go out, a change in messaging.
