Seven Deaths Of Long-Term Care Residents Reported Friday

On Friday night, Bucks County officials said community spread of new cases remained low as seven additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported.

The seven people who died were between the ages of 62 and 91. All lived in long-term care facilities, and all have underlying ailments, county officials said.

A total of 307 COVID-19 patients have died since the pandemic first hit the county.

On Friday, 96 new COVID-19 cases were reported, bringing the total to 3,779. Of the new cases, only eight were due to community spread. About half of the new cases were residents or workers at long-term care facilities, 14 were sickened by members of their households, and 10 caught it from co-workers.

As of Friday night, 192 Bucks Countians with COVID-19 were in local hospitals and 20 were on ventilators in critical condition.

A total of 996 residents recovered.
