A fire erupted over the weekend in Newtown Township.

The fire happened in the Raintree/Windemere neighborhood of Newtown Township and was swiftly contained by firefighters on Sunday, officials reported.

The blaze was placed under control quickly and caused moderate damage to the rear of a home on Rumford Court, according to Newtown Fire-Rescue Chief Glenn Forsyth.

The blaze was under investigation by the fire department, but preliminary findings suggested the cause of the blaze was accidental, Forsyth said.

There were no injuries reported in the fire.

In addition to Newtown Fire-Rescue, the Langhorne-Middletown, Lingohocken, Northampton, Penndel, and Yardley-Makefield fire companies responded to the scene.
