As the publisher of LevittownNow.com, NewtownPANow.com, and NewHopeFreePress.com, and a proud United Way of Bucks County volunteer and board member, I am writing to you during this season of giving to share an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many in our community.
This year, the United Way of Bucks County’s Holiday Gift Card Drive is set to assist more than 2,000 older kids and teens – a group often overlooked during the festive season.
The holidays can be a challenging time for families, especially when finances are tight. While younger children often benefit from toy drives, their older siblings, the teens and tweens, are frequently left with little to nothing. Our Holiday Gift Card Drive aims to fill this gap by providing these young individuals with gift cards to ensure they too have something special during the holidays. A gift of any amount is invaluable, but we strive to offer each child approximately $35 to spend on necessities like food and clothing.
The young people we aim to help through this program are often facing difficult circumstances. Some are in foster care, others may have lost a parent, or their families might simply be struggling financially. Your support can bring a moment of joy and normalcy to their lives, letting them know they are not forgotten.
I am proud to say that every penny raised by this program is a result of local donations, reflecting the generosity and community spirit of our readers. It is your involvement that drives the success of the Holiday Gift Card Drive and makes real difference in the lives of these young people.
