On Wednesday, Lower Bucks County will come together to honor the 23rd anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks with several commemorative events scheduled throughout the area.

The day’s observances will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Garden of Reflection in Lower Makefield Township. Situated on Woodside Road, this memorial will host a morning ceremony that adheres to the chronological timeline of the 9/11 attacks. The event will feature readings, the tolling of bells, and moments of silence at the specific times when each plane crashed on September 11, 2001. Religious leaders from various faiths will be present to offer prayers and reflections.

Unlike past years, the Garden of Reflection will not hold its candlelight evening ceremony this year. Organizers announced that the evening event is set to return in 2026 for the 25th anniversary of the attacks.

Tullytown Borough will host its annual remembrance ceremony at 7 p.m. behind the fire station next to Borough Hall on Main Street. The ceremony will include speeches by local dignitaries, a wreath-laying segment, and performances by local musicians to pay tribute to the victims of the attacks and honor the resilience of the community.

The Edgely Fire Company in Bristol Township will offer a quiet space. The fire company’s September 11 memorial is located on the side of the station on Edgely Road and is open to the public for those who wish to pay their respects individually.

The events will remember and honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on that tragic day in 2001 and to reflect on the impacts.
