In the wake of Hurricane Helene’s hit to the southern states, many are looking to donate and seeking trusted sources. We have put together a list of verified organizations and hubs to make donations.

The hurricane impacted parts of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Virginia, leading to more than 150 reported fatalities and numerous people still missing as of Tuesday.

Towns nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains were hard hit, with rescue and relief missions hindered by washed-out roads, downed trees, remaining flooding, and the region’s terrain.

Emergency workers and rescue teams have been working to clear roads, distribute food, remove debris, and searched for stranded survivors.

Federal, state, and local officials, bolstered by multiple National Guard units from various states, have responded to the impacted areas to aid in the recovery operations.

Crews from the state-led Pennsylvania Incident Management Team, Pennsylvania Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team, and Pennsylvania National Guard have responded to assist in North Carolina, according to Gov. Josh Shapiro’s office.

Members of the regional Pennsylvania-Task Force 1, an urban search and rescue team, have been deployed with federal authorities in the region since last week. As of this week, the team was working in Marion, North Carolina.
