Police Log: Retail Thefts, Stolen Quad Found & More

October 5

Retail Theft

Police were dispatched to Primo Hoagies on South Eagle Road around 3:45 p.m. for the report of a retail theft, not in progress. The total value of loss was $7.35.

Retail Theft

Police were dispatched to Lululemon on South Eagle Road shortly before 7 p.m. for the report of a retail theft that just occurred. Three subjects were later identified in connection, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.

October 6

DUI

At 3:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a KIA sedan for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Durham Road and Wrights Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The operator refused to submit blood for chemical testing, and charges are pending.

October 9

Theft

A Wrightstown Township resident contacted police at 10:25 a.m. to report the theft of political signs from her property. There are no leads at this time, and the incident was documented with a police report.

Arrest

At approximately 10:30 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Express Van operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Durham Road and Chatham Place. As a result of the investigation, the operator was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Bucks County Adult Probation and transferred without incident.

October 11

Truck Enforcement Detail

The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Lindenhurst Road in Newtown Township. The unit is made up of officers from this department, the Newtown Borough Police Department, and the Upper Makefield Township Police Department. During the detail, five trucks were stopped and inspected, and two warnings were issued for violations that were found. 

October 12

Stolen Vehicle

At approximately 8:45 p.m., police were dispatched to a Wrightstown Township residence for the theft of a quad. As a result of the investigation, the quad was recovered, and two male subjects were taken into custody and charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Loitering and Prowling at Night, and Criminal Trespass.

October 13

Retail Theft

At approximately 2:15 p.m., police were dispatched to Lululemon on South Eagle Road for the report of retail theft that had just occurred. As a result of the investigation, two male subjects were taken into custody and charged with Retail Theft and Receiving Stolen Property. $2,283.36 of the stolen merchandise was recovered.

October 14

Suspected Drugs

At 10:35 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Malibu operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Woodbourne Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.

October 16

Truck Enforcement Detail

The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Lindenhurst Road in Newtown Township. The unit is made up of officers from this department, the Newtown Borough Police Department, and the Upper Makefield Township Police Department. During the detail, six trucks were stopped and inspected, and one citation and three warnings were issued for violations that were found. 

Suspected Drugs

At approximately 1:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Pontiac sedan operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Swamp Road and Liberty Drive. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.

At approximately 5 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan pick-up truck operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Buck Road and Mill Pond Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.

Theft

At 12:15 p.m., police were contacted about the theft of a check. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
