The U.S. Postal Service is continuing to provide free, at-home COVID-19 tests to Americans who request them.

Residents can order the tests online at CovidTests.gov by clicking the blue “Order Free At-home Tests” button. The ordering page requires only a name and mailing address. An email address can be provided for shipping notifications.

Those without internet access or who have difficulty ordering online can call 1-800-232-0233 to place an order.

Each residential address, including those in U.S. territories, is eligible to receive four free tests.

The tests and shipping are free, and no credit or debit card information is required.

Orders are shipped via First Class Package Service, typically within seven to 12 days, and delivered by USPS within one to three days after shipping. In the past, tests have arrived about two weeks after ordering.

Postal officials said last fall that more than 900 million at-home tests had been shipped since the program began in early 2021.

The current test distribution round is the seventh of free ones distribution by the Postal Service.

The duration of the program remains unclear, but the test remained available as of this week.

Last week, The Washington Post reported that officials were preparing to end the program and potentially destroy $500 million in tests. However, President Donald Trump’s administration reversed course.
