For the first time, floral design students from Bucks County Community College are showcasing their work at the Philadelphia Flower Show.
The exhibit, “Florists of the Future,” takes visitors to the year 3025, where flowers and design transcend tradition.
The exhibit explores the show’s 2025 theme, “Gardens of Tomorrow.”
Approximately 40 students and alumni, along with four instructors, collaborated on the avant-garde floral compositions. They explored ideas such as breeding floral materials for futuristic aesthetics, developing revolutionary mechanics to enhance designs, and integrating sustainability into every aspect of floristry, according to the community college.
“The students have poured their creativity and expertise into this project, and it’s truly a reflection of their visionary ideas about how floristry will evolve in the future,” said Renee Tucci, a floral design instructor at Bucks County Community College and president-elect of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD).
Tucci credited instructor Ron Mulray for his design guidance and leadership.
The exhibit showcases how flowers might be grown, transported, and transformed into imaginative structures, bringing the “Gardens of Tomorrow” theme to life.

The Philadelphia Flower Show, the world’s oldest and largest indoor flower show, began last week and runs through Sunday at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in the city.
Several students and instructors were also featured on the 6abc show “FYI Philly” as part of their Philadelphia Flower Show segment.
The Bucks County Community College Floral Design Program, which offers both certificate and degree options, is an educational partner with the AIFD. The program equips students with the skills necessary to pursue careers in event design and floral retail, and students have the opportunity to become a Certified Floral Designer.
