Police Log: Public Drunkenness, DUI Crash & More

March 14

Drug Arrest

At approximately 2:15 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Pick-Up Truck operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Sycamore Street and Richboro Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug equipment were discovered and seized as evidence and a male passenger was arrested in connection.

March 16

Traffic Stop

At approximately noon, police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Malibu operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Newtown Gate Drive.  A firearm was discovered and seized as evidence, and an investigation is ongoing.

March 21

Retail Theft

At approximately 8 p.m., police were dispatched to Acme Markets on West Road for the report of a retail theft. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

March 22

Public Drunkenness

At 7:25 p.m., police were dispatched to a Newtown Township restaurant for the report of an intoxicated male. As a result of the investigation, the subject was cited for public drunkenness.

March 23

DUI

At approximately 1 a.m., police were dispatched to a single-vehicle traffic accident into an embankment in the area of Swamp Road and Neshaminy Drive. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

Criminal Mischief

At approximately 5:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a parking lot on West Road for the report of criminal mischief to a vehicle. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

March 26

Theft

At approximately 10:30 a.m., police were dispatched to a Wrightstown Township residence for the report of a theft from a shed. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

March 27

Drug Arrest

At approximately 1:35 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet sedan operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Summit Trace Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
