The National Weather Service is warning of the risk of severe weather for the region, including Bucks and Hunterdon counties.

Forecasters said severe thunderstorms are likely to hit between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m. The main threats involve damaging wind gusts reaching up to 80 mph and the potential for hail.

A Tornado Watch has been issued for Bucks County until 7 p.m. Monday, as meteorologists warned that the atmospheric conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes.

The National Weather Service’s regional office advised local residents to monitor the forecast and be aware of watches and warnings.

While the “slight risk” covers much of the county, the National Weather Service noted that the probability of severe weather increases in areas west of Bucks County.

Towns in Lower Bucks County along the Delaware River face an additional threat of spotty, minor coastal flooding.

The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency is advising residents to have devices charged, pay attention to weather conditions, and think about the safest location if there is a tornado.
