The Bucks County Coroner’s Office is inviting the public to attend an unaccompanied veterans service later this month.

The ceremony to honor two local servicemen whose remains have gone unclaimed is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 830 Highland Road in Upper Makefield Township.

During the service, the coroner’s office will inter two veterans from the Vietnam era.

Robert E. Kaiser, a Middletown Township resident who served as a Specialist 4 in the U.S. Army, and Christopher S. Widmann, a Falls Township resident who served as a Private in the U.S. Marine Corps, will be laid to rest.

The ceremony will include a formal reading of the veterans’ names and a presentation of the flag by the Pennsylvania Military Honors team. The tribute will also feature a rifle salute and a performance of “Taps.”

After the honors, both men will be placed in individual spaces within the cemetery’s columbarium.
