Bucks County has hired a new warden for the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
Paul Lagana was hired by the Bucks County Commissioners during a 2-0 vote earlier this week. He will be paid $97,500 per year and start his new job February 6.
“We are very pleased to have Mr. Lagana join our public safety administration at the Correctional Facility,” Commissioner Chairman Charley Martin said. “He brings more than 30 years of progressively more responsible law enforcement expertise to this new role, including oversight of a New Jersey facility that houses more than 2,500 inmates (Northern State Prison).”
Lagana will take the helm from Acting Warden Clifton Mitchell, who has been running the county prison since former Warden Terrance Moore retired last year.
Previous to his hiring in Bucks County, Lagana ran Northern State Prison in New Jersey and managed 800 employees and a budget of more than $80 million. He also has worked as an assistant superintendent at an Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center, and served in multiple roles in transport and youth corrections units.
Martin also thanked Bucks County Director of Corrections Bill Plantier and Mitchell for their help in finding Lagana.
Commissioner Diane Ellis-Marseglia was not in attendance for the meeting.
