Bucks County officials proudly showed off a rehabilitated office space they will be using in Doylestown Borough Tuesday afternoon.

The three-story office building at 30 E. Court Street has been renovated over the past year by contractors and the county’s own General Services department to house the offices of Adult Probation, Juvenile Probation and the Bucks County Detectives. The move into the updated facility will begin later this week.

“We are pleased to be able to reopen this dramatically improved facility for our probation officers, our detectives and their hard-working staff,” Bucks County Commissioners Chairman Charley Martin said. “I think the result of this capital project is a building that will serve us well for many years to come, one that includes 21st Century technology to address public safety matters.”

When the move is completed, about 150 county workers from the three departments will work in the building that previously housed Domestic Relations and the family court offices.

Officials touted the building’s high-tech security features and interview and cybersecurity rooms. The building also features an open-office work station concept for staff and places for urine testing.

The project, which cost $4.3 million, is part of the county’s reworking and consolidation of government facilities.
