Former Republican Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick has a new job.

Less than a month after his term serving the Eighth Congressional District ended, Fitzpatrick has joined Philadelphia-based Obermayer. Rebmann, Maxwell and Hippel LLP as a litigation partner. The resident of Middletown’s Levittown section will work out of the firm’s Philadelphia office.

“I am excited to join Obermayer,” said Fitzpatrick.  “I’ve known some of the firm’s attorneys for years and have a great deal of respect for their work. I believe the firm’s values align with those that I hold, specifically as it relates to serving clients and understanding their needs fully.”

Fitzpatrick, who told LevittownNow.com earlier this month that he is finishing treatment for a bout of cancer, was a member of the House Financial Services Committee, Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises subcommittee and the Financial Institutions, Oversight and Investigation subcommittee and Consumer Credit subcommittee.

“Mike’s legislative background is a great addition to the firm,” said firm Chairman Thomas A. Leonard. “We are confident that our clients will find his knowledge and skill set to be a valuable resource.”

Fitzpatrick has worked in the past for the Begley, Carlin, and Mandio law firm.

Obermayer, Rebmann, Maxwell and Hippel has offices in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and New York.
