Police in Yardley Borough are investigating a possible attempted child luring that happened earlier this week.

Two boys – ages 12 and 13 – told police a black four-door sedan parked in the area of Saint Andrew’s Church adjacent to Lake Afton between 4:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. Monday. The man in the car got out with a young boy and invited the 12 and 13 year olds to their vehicle so they could fish somewhere else. The man also indicated he had fishing equipment.

The two boys refused to get in the man’s vehicle and the man entered his car with the child and drove away, police said.

The man who spoke with the boys was described as being a black male in his 40s or 50s, police said.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Sgt. William Golden at 215-493-2782 ext. 402 or they can email contact@yardleypd.org and reference case number “I 2017-0413.” In addition, the borough police maintain an anonymous crime tip form online.
