How to Help Texas Storm Victims

While the remains of Hurricane Harvey pound the Houston area and other regions of southern Texas with large amounts of rain, Bucks Countians have begun asking how they can help.

As of Sunday night, the National Weather Service reported nearly 20 inches of rain at Houston’s international airport. At the same time, rescue operations were underway and rescue helicopters were plucking trapped Texans off their roofs.

A number of nonprofits are already on the ground and are accepting donations:

Red Cross – Donate or volunteer online, by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS, or make a $10 donation by texting the word REDCROSS to 90999.

Salvation Army – Donate online, or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY.

Austin Pets Alive – Donate online.

SPCA of Texas – Donate online.

Houston Coalition for the Homeless – Donate online.

Coastal Bend Disaster Recovery Group – Donate online.

Feeding Texas – Donate online.

Texas Diaper Bank – Donate online.
