The crawled, they laughed and they stumbled.
Around 15 babies between 7 months and 14 months took to the race track Saturday morning during LevittownNow.com and NewtownPANow.com‘s inaugural Bucks County Diaper Derby at the Neshaminy Mall.
Thirteen-month-old Maya Belle Gentner won top prize at the event and 9-month-old Gianna Sherno came in a close second. Maya and her family won a $150 Target gift card courtesy of Inspire Federal Credit Union, a photo shoot from MoShotz Photography and tickets to the Bucks County Children’s Museum. Gianna and her family were awarded a $50 Target gift card.
The Bucks County Diaper Derby was sponsored by Blonder’s Appliances in Levittown and Jay’s Steak and Hoagie Joint in Parkland, whose mascot was a hit.

The inaugural event brought together families and more than 15 vendors.
Rodney and Michelle Smith from TotalEntertainment.dj provided the music and commentary for the races.
LevittownNow.com and NewtownPANow.com Publisher Tom Sofield and event planner Jennifer Schultz said a second annual Bucks County Diaper Derby is already in the works for next year.
“We had a great time and thank our families and vendors for coming out,” Sofield said. “Using our knowledge gained this year, next year’s event will be even bigger.”
