Officers from numerous departments will use the empty Newtown Middle School for training Saturday and Sunday.

According to Newtown Township police, local officers and those from other area departments will hold a multi-jurisdiction at the school. The training will take place Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.

“Sessions will include the use of various devices that produce audible sound. Community members can expect to see numerous police vehicles around Newtown Middle School on both June 30th and July 1st for the full duration of each training day,” a police statement said.

The middle school closed at the end of the 2017-2018 school year as a new building prepares to open right behind it.
