Newtown Borough will be in the fall spirit for Market Day on Saturday.
The Newtown Historical Association’s annual free event will take place in the area of the Half Moon Inn at Centre Avenue and Court Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Festivities will be in the streets and on the property around the historic inn.
Organizers said the event, which started in 1977, will feature crafters, artisans and fine artists, colonial-era demonstrations, reenactments, farm stands, entertainment for all ages, and food from Newtown-area eateries. The nearby Newtown Library will also hold their annual book sale.
Parking that is free can be found on the streets of the borough or in the municipal lots.
Proceeds from Market Day support the Newtown Historic Association.
Police said Court Street between Penn Street and Washington Avenue; Centre Avenue between South Chancellor Street and South State Street; Mercer Street between South State Street and Congress Street; and South Congress Street between Penn Street and Washington Avenue will be closed during the event.
