A massive book festival will take place this weekend.
A year after Doylestown resident Elle Green dreamed up the idea of a book festival in Bucks County, the two-day festival has become a reality that will feature close to 50 professional authors and a number of events, the majority being free.
This Saturday and Sunday in Doylestown, book lovers will gather for author panels geared toward teens and adults, a children’s festival, book signings, and three keynote speaker events.
Bestselling children’s author Michael Buckley, illustrator and author Floyd Cooper, and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chris Hedges are the keynote speakers. Buckley and Cooper’s speeches will be free and there is a $42 cost to see Hedges interviewed by WHYY’s Tracey Matisak.
Also happening at the festival will be a Writer’s Workshop on Saturday and panel with authors on various topics and literary vendors.
More information on the events, their timing, whether they are free or if there is a cost, can be found at the Bucks County Book Festival website.
