One person was treated for smoke inhalation after a late Tuesday night fire in Newtown Township.

The blaze was reported around 10:30 p.m. in a condo in the 500 block of Diamond Drive. Crews arrived to find flames and got to work putting down the fire.

Newtown Emergency Services Chief Glenn Forsyth said it took about 10 minutes for fire to placed under control.

The Newtown Ambulance Squad said that in addition to the one person who was treated for smoke inhalation, 12 firefighters were processed through rehab at the scene after fighting the flames.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation as of Wednesday morning, Forsyth said.

Newtown Fire and Emergency Services responded along with firefighters from the Langhorne-Middletown, Northampton, Penndel, and Yardley-Makefield fire companies. In addition, the Newtown Ambulance Squad, Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad, and Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad sent ambulances to the scene.
