Four individuals were apprehended Wednesday following a theft at Lululemon in the Village at Newtown shopping center, according to Newtown Township police.

Authorities reported that around 1:55 p.m., an officer was flagged down by witnesses who observed five males in black clothing fleeing the store. They were last seen running past the under-construction Capital Grille on South Eagle Road.

The officer pursued one suspect matching the witnesses’ descriptions on Eagle Road, police said.

A witness identified the man, who then attempted to escape on foot. He was eventually captured exiting the front door of the Capital Grille after running in, police said.

Additional reports led police to the area between North Sycamore Street and South Eagle Road near the reservoir, where three more suspects, an adult and two juveniles, were located and detained, police said.

Newtown Township police said the incident led to a large police presence.

The suspects were transported to police headquarters, authorities said.

Police said they recovered several stolen items and a backpack containing merchandise from Lululemon, which was valued at approximately $4,572.40.
