Pennsylvania State Police Troop M will increase patrols across Bucks County this holiday season as part of a targeted enforcement campaign.
Troopers said the goal is to reduce crashes and take impaired drivers off the road.
The Christmas enforcement period begins at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday and runs through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
A second enforcement wave for the New Year’s holiday will start at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, and conclude at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026.
According to a state police press release, troopers focus on speeding, seat belt violations, and child seat infractions.
They will also have Traffic Enforcement Against Drunk Drivers and Drug Recognition Experts on local roads to find intoxicated drivers.
During the 2024 Christmas enforcement period, Troop M, which covers Bucks, Lehigh, and Northampton counties, investigated 51 crashes and made 11 DUI arrests.
Over the 2024–2025 New Year’s holiday, troopers investigated 31 crashes and made 14 DUI arrests.
State police also issued a reminder regarding the legal consequences of fleeing from authorities.
Under Pennsylvania law, willfully refusing to stop for a pursuing officer is a third-degree felony. Conviction can carry a maximum sentence of seven years in prison, a $15,000 fine, and mandatory restitution for any damages or injuries resulting from the pursuit.
