Democratic State Rep. Steve Santarsiero has released his first general election TV ad in his bid for congressman of the eighth district.

The ad  titled “Us,” focuses on Santarsiero’s ties to the community and features everyday residents who speak on Santarsiero’s character. Throughout the ad, the campaign cites moments when the candidate worked to “protect our tax dollars” and “worked to keep guns away from terrorist.”

“Steve Santarsiero has deep community support from Democrats, Republicans and independents who have seen the reforms Steve has championed in Harrisburg and are ready to send Steve to Washington to continue the fight on our behalf,” said Eric Goldman, Santarsiero campaign manager. “Steve Santarsiero didn’t move here to run for Congress and from issues ranging from common sense gun safety to supporting local businesses, Steve is the only candidate in this race who has been tirelessly fighting for the topics Pennsylvania families care about. This commercial is the first step in telling Steve’s story of reform and leadership by example.”

According to Goldman, the advertisement was filmed recently.

The advertisement, according to the Santarsiero campaign, is running on broadcast television as well as digital platforms. The cost of the buy is in the six figure range for the first week.
