Searchers returned to Tyler State Park Thursday morning to resume efforts to find a missing Bensalem woman.

According to a park official, Tyler State Park will remain closed to the public Thursday in an effort to help search teams that have fanned out.

The woman – Lindsey Piccone, who a police source reports is 21 years old – was last seen Tuesday afternoon. Hours later, her car was found around dusk at the 1,700-acre state park, a place she was known to have visited in the past. Searchers on land and in the air searched Tuesday night and Wednesday morning through dark in hopes of finding Piccone.

Law enforcement and Piccone’s family have released few details surrounding the disappearance aside from the fact her car was found at the park and she did not have her cellphone with her at the time.

K-9 dogs, a helicopter, police on four-wheelers, a dive team, first responders on foot and Piccone’s family have searched the park that covers portions of Newtown Township, Northampton and Wrightstown. An official also said local police and other searchers are keeping an eye out in the areas that surround the park.

Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Ranger Eric Ihlein told reporters the search was focused on bringing Piccone home.

“Lindsey, if you are listening, you are so loved. Your parents love you so much more than I could ever express,” Heather Andrews, a member of Piccone’s family, said during a Wednesday afternoon press conference. “All your family and friends are here … we aren’t giving up until we find you.”

Anyone with information on Piccone’s whereabouts is asked to call authorities at 610-982-5411.
