July 3
Illegal Dumping
At approximately 4:45 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Terry Drive for the report of a possible theft of services/illegal dumping. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
July 4
DUI
At approximately 1 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Rogue operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Freedom Drive. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The operator refused to submit blood for chemical testing, and charges are pending.
DUI
At approximately 2:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and State Street. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
July 7
DUI
At approximately 10:15 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota Tacoma operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Richboro Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
July 8
Retail Theft
At approximately 1:45 p.m., police responded to Lululemon on South Eagle Road for the report of a retail theft that occurred earlier that day. The total value of loss was $476, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
July 9
Illegal Dumping
At approximately 7:45 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Terry Drive for the report of a possible theft of services/illegal dumping. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
July 11
Attempted Fraud
A Newtown Township resident responded to headquarters around 8:45 a.m. to report an attempted fraud. Someone opened a PayPal account in his name and tried to make two purchases. The purchases were declined, and the resident did not suffer a monetary loss.
Drugs Found
At approximately 9:20 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet SUV operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Campus Drive. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
July 12
Theft From Vehicle
Police were dispatched to a parking lot in the area of South Eagle Drive around 5:45 p.m. for the report of a theft from a motor vehicle. As a result of the investigation, juvenile charges were filed for a juvenile male subject.
Illegal Vehicle
At approximately 9:15 p.m., police initiated a traffic stop on an off-road, not street legal, dirt bike operator in the area of Sycamore Street and Barclay Street. As a result of the investigation, juvenile charges were filed for a juvenile male subject.
July 13
Drugs Found
At approximately 4:15 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Buick SUV operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Swamp Road and Liberty Drive. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
July 14
Retail Theft
At approximately 2 p.m., police were dispatched for a retail theft at Sweet Pea Boutique on South Eagle Road. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
July 15

At 11:30 a.m. police were dispatched for a retail theft at Head over Heels on South Eagle Road. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
July 16
Theft From Vehicle
A Newtown Township resident contacted police around 1:00 pm to report a theft from her vehicle that occurred on July 3. The total value of loss was around $10.
July 17
DUI
At approximately 1:15 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge pick-up operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
Fraud
At approximately 10:30 a.m., a Newtown Township resident responded to headquarters to report a real estate fraud. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
