Upper Makefield police are trying to unmask the masked want-to-be crooks who attempted to break in to a pharmacy.

According to an online post from township police, at least two suspects tried to burglarize Heritage Pharmacy in the 1000 block of General Knox Road in the Washington Crossing section of town.

Officers said they were alerted to a problem at the pharmacy at 3:55 a.m. last Wednesday when the burglary alarm was activated. Responding patrol officers found the suspects had tried to pry open the front door and snipped inactive wires at the rear of the business.

Surveillance video obtained by police appeared to show at least two people trying to enter Heritage Pharmacy, with another person in a getaway car. The white getaway car was spotted on video from General Sullivan Road, police said.

Independently-owned Heritage Pharmacy is a popular business in Upper Makefield and is owned and operated by pharmacists Charles Lebegern and Robert Schreiber.

Anyone with information is asked to call police 215-968-3020. Tips will remain confidential.
