Scattered rain showers didn’t stop the Newtown Business Association’s Welcome Day festivities.
While some of the scheduled entertainment acts and vendors stayed away due to the rain, several thousand people took to Sycamore Street for the town’s “street fair with flair.” From food vendors to crafters, Welcome Day has something for everyone to enjoy.
Beverly Dimler, the president of the Newtown Business Association and employee of Penn’s Trail Storage, said she was thrilled that there was still a strong turnout despite the rain.
“I really didn’t think the rain was too bad. The businesses had tents I could go to and there were lovely kids signing down by the dealership,” said Margret Dalessandro of Hunterdon County, New Jersey. “I happened to this by chance and really enjoyed myself, but not the weather.”
