PHOTOS: More Than 100 Participate In Mary Kate’s Legacy Foundation Run

More than a hundred runners took to the streets of Newtown Township Thursday evening.

The runners were participating in Joe Conklin’s Christmas in July 5K, which benefits Mary Kate’s Legacy Foundation. The race included a walk and a 5K that started outside the Green Parrot Restaurant Pub & Patio and looped through the surrounding area.

The foundation was started after Mary Kate Marlow passed away in 2005 at the age of 11 after battling Infantile Neuro-axonal Dystrophy, a rare progressive disease. The goal of Mary Kate’s Legacy Foundation is to support families of special needs children and help make their lives easier.

The winning runner came in at just over 16 minutes to complete the full 5K course.
