Police responded to a reported crowd causing a disturbance in Newtown Township early Saturday morning.

Officers from the township were dispatched around 1 a.m. to Ardsley Court for initial reports of a crowd causing a disturbance and possibly engaging in fighting. Upon arrival, the crowd began to disperse and officers began checking the identification of those in the area, police said.

While checking identification, a man who had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from him was tested with a portable breath test. The 21-year-old Jenkintown man was found to be intoxicated and will be cited via mail for public drunkenness, police said.

No arrests related to any possible fighting were made.
