Four regional nonprofit groups will benefit from a weekend event at the Pineville Tavern.

The Pineville Tavern’s Backyard BBQ Fundraiser will take place this Sunday, August 21 at the eatery at 1089 Durham Road in Wrightstown. The cookout will be held from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Wristbands for entrance are $25, plus a small service charge. The wristband gets the attendee unlimited ribs, fried chicken, Million Dollar Bacon Burgers, homemade side dishes, ice tea, lemonade and Arnold Palmers.

The feast will benefit the Team Franky FoundationKisses for Kyle, Autism Cares and Athletes Helping Athletes.

“Originally, we were going to select one charity as part of a social media contest, but there was such an overwhelming response, we decided that we couldn’t just choose one,” explained Pineville Tavern owner Drew Abruzzese, who also owns Big Q BBQ in Levittown.

Guests will be able to choose which charity they will support and receive a corresponding wrist band.

Aside from local charities, a national cause will also be present. Mike Klesh, a professional racer who is driving a Blue Lives Matter rally car across country, will be in attendance and gathering signatures from law enforcement officers who attend. After the cross country trip, the hood of the car will be auctioned, benefiting the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

The charity event is being held in celebration of three major milestones that the Pineville Tavern has recently accomplished, according to Abruzzese. “Recently, the historic tavern was awarded two amazing honors: Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best of Philly” for Best Deal for Carnivores and they were deemed the champions of the 2016 Burger Brawl competition for the restaurant’s Million Dollar Bacon Burger. It is also celebrating the grand opening of Big Q BBQ Takeout at the Pineville Tavern,” a statement announcing the event reads.

Tickets can be ordered online.
