An Upper Makefield police officer has resigned to take a new job in Middletown.

Corey Huff, a resident of Langhorne, was hired by Middletown Township Monday at a starting salary of $64,376 per year. He was sworn in before District Judge John Kelly and was presented to the public at the evening’s board of supervisors meeting.

Before starting at Middletown, Huff was the Upper Makefield Police Department’s firearms instructor as well as a field training officer. Huff worked his last shift after 11 years on the job in Upper Makefield on August 2 and was thanked by the department and residents on social media.

Huff graduated from Pennsbury High School in Falls Township and attended the Montgomery County Police Academy. He is currently attending Kaplan University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Middletown Chief Joseph Bartorilla said.

Huff is married and has three children.
