Firefighters from the Lingohocken Fire Company in Wrightstown were called to Peddler’s Village in Buckingham for a fire in a building that houses two popular stores.

Shortly after 6:10 p.m. firefighters were called to the building that houses The Nut Kettle and St. Jude Religious Store in the Peddler’s Village complex for a reported fire. Initial reports indicated flames were shooting from the building.

By 7 p.m., the majority of the flames had been knocked down and firefighters continued to pour water of the scene.

The Midway Fire Company has a station just down the road from the building where the flames were centered.

The Christmas season is peak tourist time at the shopping district that has become an East Coast icon.

There was no immediate word on injuries.
