The Newtown Artesian Water Company plans to shut down a portion of State Street overnight starting next week and continuing through September.

According to PennDOT, State Street in Newtown Borough will be closed between Penn Street and Washington Avenue for a water-related utility project. The project will start Sunday, July 30 and run through mid-September from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.
The closure will have motorists detoured over to Washington and Lincoln Avenue, PennDOT officials said.
Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.
