An upscale Newtown Township eatery will be closing its doors this weekend.

The Saloon on North Sycamore Street announced Tuesday that they will be shutting down Sunday. Their last full evening open will be Saturday.

“After nearly 10 years, this was a very difficult decision and a sad moment for us and our staff. Yet, we also feel very blessed to have had the privilege of operating our restaurant in this wonderful Newtown community and thank everyone for your loyalty, support and patronage over the years,” restaurant owners Dean, Debbie, and Katrina Evangelou said in a statement.

The announcement invited customers to stop in before The Saloon closes its doors for good.

The owners’ other eatery and bar, Square One Pub in Solebury, will remain open.

The building The Saloon is housed in dates back to the 1800s and has previously served as a hotel and general store.
