Two Newtown Township lawmen received promotions Wednesday evening.

As part of Chief Rick Pasqualini’s reorganization of the department, the promotions were announced at the Board of Supervisors meeting.

Detective Sgt. Jason Harris was promoted to the rank of lieutenant by the chief. He started with the Newtown Borough Police Department in 1991 and moved to the township’s department in 2003. As a detective sergeant, Harris oversaw the investigative division.

Detective Daniel Bartle was promoted to the rank of detective corporal, which will give him oversight of the investigative division. Like Harris, he started at Newtown Borough police before starting at the township in 2003. The chief called him a “road warrior” who is “always out there working.”

The lawmen were sworn into their new positions by District Judge Mick Petrucci.
