The Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services Agency has a new director.

Marjorie McKeone was appointed to the post by the Bucks County Commissioners at their meeting on October 2. She previously served as assistant director of the agency and her yearly salary will rise from $99,764 to $105,000.

McKeone, a 30-year county employee and resident of Central Bucks County, replaces longtime director Lynne Kallus-Rainey, who retired in August after 42 years of service to the county.

“Marge started with Children and Youth in 1989 as a caseworker and has worked tirelessly on behalf of the children and families in Bucks County ever since,” said Jonathan Rubin, Bucks County’s director of housing and human services. “She has been an asset to the county on many levels, including as a supervisor, manager and assistant director, and we look forward to her continuing to support our division-wide mission of supporting and strengthening individual family wellness as director.”

In addition to leading 200 employees, McKeone will oversee the care of an average of 340 children each day, a budget of $44 million, and more than 10,000 intake investigations of new reports annually.

The county said McKeone was Bucks County Employee of the Year in 2013 and recognized as a Bucks County YWCA 2015 Woman of the Year Award winner. She has served on numerous regional and statewide advisory groups devoted to family and child services.
