On Tuesday evening, two additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Bucks County.
The total of COVID-19 cases in the county stood at nine.
One of the new cases is the spouse of an elderly patient who remains in serious but stable condition at an area hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 later on Monday. As of Tuesday evening, the recently-diagnosed spouse was confined at the couple’s home with mild symptoms, according to Dr. David Damsker, director of the Bucks County Health Department.
The other new case is an adult who caught COVID-19 at an out-of-state gathering. The patient is at home and displayed mild symptoms, Damsker said.
The new cases were not the result of community spread, health officials said.
The adult who remains in the hospital caught COVID-19 from an unknown source. Damsker’s office is working to perform contact tracing.
Damsker said the person who remains in the hospital had preexiting medical issues.
Bucks County officials have made a practice of not releasing the hometowns or age of those with COVID-19.
State and county officials expect more COVID-19 cases in the coming days.
