After Weekend, County Reports 20 New COVID-19 Patient Deaths

Since Saturday, Bucks County reported 20 new deaths of COVID-19 patients, officials said late Monday night.

The new deaths were of a 42-year-old man, 50-year-old man, 58-year-old man, and 64-year-old woman. The other 16 people who died were over the age of 70. All of the deaths were in people with previous health issues, county officials said.

The county reported 100 new positive COVID-19 cases on Saturday, 50 cases on Sunday, and 110 new cases on Monday. A total of 47 of the new cases on Monday were in long-term care facilities and 12 were due to community spread.

Over the past weeks, the county has seen a rise in COVID-19 deaths.

Of the county’s 258 COVID-19 deaths, 81 percent have been residents of long-term care facilities and the median age of the deaths was 82.

The county reported 253 COVID-19 patients in local hospitals and 28 on ventilators in critical conditions as of Monday night.

A total of 882 Bucks Countians have recovered from COVID-19.
