Bucks County officials reported no new cases of COVID-19 linked to community spread and only one death on Sunday.
The one death was of a 98-year-old woman with underlying conditions who lived in a long-term care facility, bringing the total to 312 deaths since March, officials said.
Among the 81 new cases on Sunday, 61 were residents of long-term care facilities, four are long-term care workers, seven were sickened by someone they live with, and four were either healthcare workers or patients who contracted the virus while in a health care facility. Bucks County has seen 3,922 positive COVID-19 cases.
“It is promising to see we had no cases of pure community spread, meaning we had no cases in people for which we could not identify the source,” Bucks County Department of Health Director Dr. David Damsker said. “While I’m confident this will not be the case every day, it is a good sign of the overall positive trend.”
Bucks County has seen lessening community spread in recent weeks as deaths have increased. The decease comes as county officials push the governor’s office to set a date for reopening.
According to county data, a total of 78 deaths of people with coronavirus were reported last week, which was down from 92 from the previous week.
A total of 195 Bucks Countians with COVID-19 remain in hospitals. Twenty of those patients are in critical condition and on ventilators.
The number of those who have recovered from COVID-19 broke 1,000 over the weekend and landed at 1,015.
