No Injuries In Afternoon Basement Fire

A Saturday afternoon fire was quickly stopped before it spread.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 1000 block of Taylorsville Road, which is near the intersection with Washington Crossing Road, in Upper Makefield Township’s Washington Crossing section at 12:49 p.m. for a reported blaze.

Crews arrived and discovered the fire was in the base.

Upper Makefield Fire Company Chief Tim Brewer said the fire was contained to an electrical panel in the basement.

No injuries were reported, the chief said.

The Upper Makefield Fire Company was assisted at the scene by the Eagle, Morrisville, Newtown, Union (New Jersey), and Yardley-Makefield fire companies.
