Phishing Email Being Received By Some, Council Rock Superintendent Says

A phishing email is being circulated, claiming to be from the Council Rock School District.

A phishing email is being circulated, claiming to be from the Council Rock School District.

The email is using the Council Rock School District logo to ask for donations and has been sent from the address “admin@crsd.org.dir.”

Council Rock School District Superintendent Dr. Andrew Sanko issued a statement Sunday warning the public that this email was not sent by the district, nor is the sender a known representative or employee of the district.

The public is being advised to exercise caution when opening the email, Sanko said.

Phishing scams are becoming increasingly common, with scammers using various tactics to trick individuals into revealing personal information or making payments.

Below is the email from Sanko:

Dear Council Rock Community, 

There is a phishing email circulating that is using the Council Rock logo to appeal for donations.  This email was sent from the address “admin@crsd.org.dir.”

Please be aware that this communication was NOT sent from Council Rock, nor is the sender a known CR representative or employee.  Please use caution if opening this email.
