The Zoës Kitchen in the Goodnoe Corner Shopping Center in Newtown Township closed permanently this week.

A sign posted on the door on Tuesday read the Mediterranean-style fast-casual restaurant was closed for good.
The closure comes as the chain has been reducing locations from a high of more than 200 in 2014 to just under three dozen as of this week.
Zoës Kitchen has been located in the Goodnoe Corner Shopping Center since 2013. It took the location that was previously occupied by Cosi until it closed in 2012.

Zoës Kitchen started in 1995 in Alabama and expanded over the years.

Cava Group, which operates the Cava chain of fast-casual Mediterranean restaurants, has owned Zoës Kitchen since 2018. In the years since, Cava has been closing Zoës Kitchen locations and converting some to Cava location.
