Upper Makefield Township has a new full-time officer, and he is already familiar with the 21-square-mile municipality.

The Upper Makefield Township Board of Supervisors approved hiring Officer Andrew Nagle as a full-time officer at their Tuesday evening meeting. He had been working in the township as a part-time officer since January.

Upper Makefield Township Police Department Chief Mark Schmidt welcomed Nagle to the agency and said he recently completed his field training program.

“He is an amazing individual – just like all our officers – and he is always willing to learn,” Schmidt said.

Prior to coming to Upper Makefield Township, Nagle worked as a part-time officer for Morrisville, Tullytown, and Yardley boroughs for the past two years. He also previous worked as an EMT for nine years.

Nagle is a native of Mercer County, New Jersey. He attended Mercer County Community College, Rutgers University, and Temple University Municipal Police Academy.
