Joe Khan, the Central Bucks County lawyer, running for Pennsylvania Attorney General has gained the endorsements of Bucks County Commissioner Chairperson Bob Harvie and State Sen. Steve Santarsiero.
Khan, a Democrat and the former county solicitor, announced the endorsements from his former boss and chairperson of the county Democratic committee on Monday.
“We proudly endorse our friend Joe Khan for Attorney General so that he can continue his lifelong fight to keep our communities safe from crime, corruption and attacks on our rights. As Bucks County Solicitor, Joe was a pioneer in helping us protect our environment, our workers, and our right to vote – especially when it came under attack by Donald Trump in 2020. Joe has been tireless in supporting other Democratic candidates –especially during our sweep of the Central Bucks School Board races – and we are excited to support him today,” Harvie and Santarsiero said in a statement.

The local endorsements for Khan, a former federal prosecutor, come ahead of Saturday’s Pennsylvania Democratic Party endorsement vote.
The Democratic list of attorney general candidates vying for the enforcement features Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer, former Pennsylvania Auditor General Eugene DePasquale, Philadelphia State Rep. Jared Solomon, and former public defender Keir Bradford-Grey.
In a statement: Khan said: “Bucks County is a must-win battleground for 2024, and I am honored to receive the support of the Chairs of its Board of Commissioners and Democratic Party. Working together we have taken on the big fights for the people of Bucks County, which, like Pennsylvania, is a blend of urban, suburban, and rural communities. And as we continue to build the broadest and most diverse coalition of any campaign, we will win next year’s elections and fight for all communities in Pennsylvania.”
Khan’s campaign said the candidate “has been steadily gaining momentum since his June campaign launch.”
Democratic state representatives Tim Brennan and Brian Munroe, both of Central Bucks County, have already endorsed Khan. He has also been endorsed by his State Rep. Tarik Khan, his brother.
Khan, a Philadelphia-native, ran for city district attorney in 2017, but he lost in the Democratic primary to Larry Krasner. Khan came in a second place.
Khan, of Doylestown Borough, describes himself as the “son of a Muslim immigrant and Catholic nurse who grew up in a Jewish neighborhood.”
