Bucks County’s 9-1-1 system was suffering technical issues on Thursday.
The 9-1-1 center was impacted by a reported outage that started just after 10 a.m., according to local officials.
Spokesperson James O’Malley the county and one of its vendors were working to fully restore service.
As of 11 a.m., 9-1-1 service remained operational, but some problems persisted, according to sources.
“Incoming calls are still being received at Bucks County 911 despite the phone system’s diminished capacity. The county is working with the system vendor Motorola to rectify the issue as quickly as possible,” a county statement said.
Local police and fire companies issued messages on social media urging people to call 9-1-1 and the local stations if there was an emergency.
The Bucks County 9-1-1 Center is located in Ivyland Borough and a backup location is in Doylestown Borough. It handles all emergency calls and dispatches for local law enforcement, fire companies, and emergency medical services within the county.
